Women's Health: Get Information on Common Health

Natural Health For Women

There are so many simple habits you can incorporate into your daily life that can really help maximize your life span. Studies have shown that women who are fit, walk about 30 minutes a day, and in doing so are more likely to live longer than others who walk less.

Statistics have shown that we as adults lack the required amount of daily physical activity to maintain a healthy life. On average, we spend about 9 hours or more sitting down during the weekdays at work, and much more over the weekends! That’s a lot of time spent on our behinds.

It only takes a little more than 10 minutes of physical activity a day to start seeing and feeling the improvements, and to live longer. Any additional activity on top of that is just going to help boost your overall health and maximize your life span. Most of us who have full-time jobs and kids find it difficult to get to the gym daily with such limited hours in a day, so here are some simple things you can start doing that’s simple and doesn’t require you to dedicate too much of your time into doing.

Turn Your House Cleaning Into A Workout

Did you know that just by doing house chores like cleaning and vacuuming, you can actually burn about 285 calories per hour? Recently done studies have found that people who often do house work tend to live longer and reduce their risk of premature death by up to 30%.

A Cup Of Tea A Day Keeps The Doctor Away

Drinking a cup of tea a day is one of the best ways of maximizing your life span. Green tea as well as black tea contain great amounts of catechins which are responsible for the risk of cancer as well as many forms of heart disease. Not to mention, tea helps you to increase your body’s metabolism and hence helps you control your weight. Tea contains plenty of antioxidants as well which are great for your immune systems, thus drinking tea regularly will reduce the risks to the common cold as well.

Strong Legs Are Important For Your Well-Being

Most people in their 70’s and 80’s tend to decline in their health rapidly due to a hip fracture mostly caused when they fall down. Once that happens, the immobilization prevents them from getting their much needed exercise to ensure a healthy lifestyle. You can start preventing this from happening today by doing some simple thigh and leg exercises on a daily basis. Strengthening your leg and thigh muscles increases your mobility, balance and flexibility and in turn will reduce your risk of falling and getting injuries such as hip fractures. Here’s a tip, go to your local book store and look for some information on lower body exercises you can do at home (Pilates is a good example).

Lastly, as the old saying goes, “you are as young as you feel”. Having a youthful mindset is one of the secrets of staying young and living longer. Studies have shown that people people who have this kind of positive mindset tend to be less stressed, have a better immune system and are motivated to take on life’s daily challenges.
